Lighthouse Christian Church is an affiliated member of the Australian Christian Churches - who are part of the world-wide Assemblies of God family of Pentecostal churches.
Whilst this is the case, Lighthouse CC holds strongly to its own identity in the local setting.
Originally, Lighthouse CC had its roots in the Oakleigh and Richmond Assemblies of God churches which were born out of the early 20th century revivals in Melbourne. In the early 1960s Pastor Jack Martin began a Sunday School in Springvale (a neighbouring suburb 25kms south east of Melbourne) using a local scout hall. This developed into a small congregation, which eventually formed the Springvale Assembly of God church. Several more moves followed culminating in 1986 when Pastor Richard Warner obeying a vision from God, purchased a 10 acre site in Keysborough for the purpose of establishing an all-age Christian Centre catering from the ‘cradle to the grave’.
In 1987 after several miraculous provisions, Lighthouse CC relocated to its fine new property in Keysborough, and has since seen the continuous gracious hand of God. We are now utilizing the greater part of the 10 acre site with our own full-time educational institutions: Lighthouse Kindergarten, Lighthouse Christian College (Primary and Secondary Schools) www.lighthouse.edu.gov.au , and School of the Prophets, plus outreach and pastoral ministries found in this website. We are blessed with the finest facilities of any Christian organisation in South East Melbourne. However, facilities only facilitate the more important elements of a church – its vision and values.
Our vision and values include the following:
